The Eiffel Tower, Taj Mahal, The Grand Canyon? This post I’m talking food! Fully half the experience of traveling for me is the local cuisine. Think crispy bugs in Thailand, Cows hoof in Morocco or say BBQ, catfish & oysters in Louisiana! All easily ketofied! ?

We asked our New Orleans Airbnb Hosts for the best locally owned BBQ joint. Surprise! It was … The Joint which was just a 3min drive away on the edge of the Bywater District and an old industrial area. Super quaint, small and definitely a local go to for bbq! The Joint is my new Gold Standard for bbq. Their coleslaw is also amazing. It’s made without the usual sugar added and just enough vinegar to cut the fattiness of the meat.

Then it was on to Coterie Restaurant & Oysters Bar which is a whole different animal all together. Located in the French Quarter the vibe is very hip as are the drinks and the food! The baked oysters are naturally keto with butter, parmesan and herbs, so yummy. Their Catfish Napoleon comes corn flour breaded with roasted potatoes and seasonal veggies. There was no issue at all getting the fish without the breading and more veggies instead of the potatoes. And Holy Cow the andouille cream sauce smothering it was totally keto and should be easy to reproduce at home ?

Wow! NOLA what else do you have in store for me…..
