Our generation (whatever that means) will be known for creating the coworking space! As remote workers grow in number coffee shops become more of a place to hang out, sip a latte and work. And I personally love it! I can get so much work done in a coffee shop. There’s this shared creative vibe and social aspect that generates an energy not found when working from home or at the office. Plus it makes for great people watching especially when in a country not your own!
The point of this story being I recently took a three day road trip down to Salem Oregon to check out the State Capital Building and their Keto Eats (see State Capital category) and decided to stay in the nearby small rural town of Independence. Super quaint town with an awesome coffeehouse, Brew Coffee & Tap House. I spent two mornings there sipping delicious breve latte after breve latte, getting caught up on work and ease dropping on the local retired men. The bonus of the whole thing, besides their fabulous coffee, was discovering the young man working there was a fellow Wanderer! We had the best conversation about his time living in Ireland, his dreams, and what he’s doing to make a life of remote work and travel happen. The young man has a plan! It was a pleasure to meet and talk with him. I can’t wait for the next serendipitous meeting with a fellow Wanderer!
